The Minkler Choral Music Scholarship Award Application
The Minkler Award was commissioned by the family of Raymond Minkler to strengthen Minnesota’s choral music future by providing financial support to graduating seniors who are pursuing careers in choral music. Raymond Minkler was Minnetonka High School’s first choral music director and arranged our much-loved Choral Benediction. Administered by Vocal Support, this award is supported by a generous donation from the Minkler family and additional fundraising by Vocal Support. The 2021 Minkler Award is $1,000. Applications are due Friday, May 21, 2022.
ELIGIBILITY
The Minkler Choral Music Scholarship Award is open to any students who meet the following criteria:
Will graduate from Minnetonka High School
Have actively participated in Minnetonka High School choirs for THREE or more years, including the current calendar year.
Will pursue an undergraduate degree in Music, including Music Education, Music Therapy, Choral Education, and Vocal Performance.
EVALUATION
Applications will be considered by a committee of at least four people including directors and members of the Vocal Support executive board. In the event there are fewer than two candidates who meet the award criteria in any given year, it is possible that one award or no award will be made that year.
